Doug has been a familiar business figure in the Vail Valley and Colorado for more than four decades. Highlights of his impressive career include serving as President and CEO of Colorado Ski Country USA (the trade organization of 32 Colorado ski areas), vice president and general manager of the Broadmoor Hotel and general manager of the Antlers Hotel, both Colorado Springs landmarks.

In the Vail Valley, Doug has been vice president of resort services for Vail Resorts, Inc., general manager and director of ski resort development for The Westin Resort (now the Cascade Resort & Spa) and president and CEO of Colorado Cady Holdings Hospitality & Restaurant. His professional activities include serving on the Governor's Tourism Council, having been appointed by Gov. Roy Romer and Gov. Richard Lamm respectively.

Although most of Doug's career has been spent in the hospitality sector, he noted that many of the same skills are vital for a successful real estate career. He explains,"I've always enjoyed people and, like hospitality, real estate is definitely a 'people' business."
